What exactly does felling trees and bushes mean?

The term is not defined anywhere. We can understand it as cutting off the above-ground part, which makes its further growth impossible. The permission from a nature protection body is usually necessary to fell trees and bushes. Pruning or lopping the crowns of trees or bushes is not regarded as felling. However, excessive pruning or lopping of the crown of the tree or bush can be regarded as “damaging and destroying woody plants”, which is not permitted as it fundamentally and permanently reduces the ecological and aesthetic functions of the trees and bushes, or leads to the immediate or later death of the woody plants. Such forbidden activities are punishable (by a fine) according to the Act.

ještěrka zelená

The European green lizard (Lacerta viridis) can be seen on warm days at sun-warmed rocks and slopes of Podyjí.  Our national park is one of few places in the Czech Republic, where you can observe this animal. And moreover, the male lizard is dressed in impressive groom outfit in these days.
