Target area of stands to be left to natural development – this will cover the majority of the forests in the national park (around 75% of the forests) and in this way a large and contiguous complex of communities to be left to natural development will be formed. Only natural and near-natural communities which have been achieved by way of active renewal management and will continue to be left to natural development processes will be included in this forest complex.
Forest stands with long-term management - will include communities where long-term active management is applied. Forest stands in this zone will be managed according to the principles of near-natural forest management with regard to the specific requirements of nature protection. The zone will form a buffer zone between the natural forest communities and the surrounding (mostly agricultural) landscape.
