Operative inventarization
The basis of operative inventarisation is a statistical selection of data collection which is carried out
on a network of long-term inventory plots. The aim of operative inventarisation is to provide reliable, objective and
reproducible data about selected elements of the forest ecosystem, with an emphasis on the tree inventory. Only after
comparing two consecutive inventory investigations on long-term inventory plots (during repeated renewals of the FMP)
can the operative inventory provide important information about the development of the forest and about changes in the
individual characteristics, including information about the increase in the stand volume of the trees on these plots.
These inventories are carried out in a network of long-term circular plots which usually cover 500
m2.
